OLD CLOTHES GIVEAWAY DRIVE

Share

On October 2, 2020, in remembrance of Gandhi Jayanti, a significant day in India that celebrates the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, a meaningful event took place at Shivala Ghat in Varanasi. The “Missionaries of Charity,” a group well known for its association with Mother Teresa’s extraordinary humanitarian efforts, were the ones in charge of planning the event.

The group took the admirable step of providing used clothing to individuals in need during this event. This act of kindness and compassion is in line with the values of service and selflessness that Mahatma Gandhi promoted and that continue to motivate people and organizations to make meaningful contributions to society.

Gandhi Jayanti is a day to honor the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, who advocated for non-violence, truth, and social justice. The values that Mahatma Gandhi upheld are reflected in the kindness, altruism, and community service performed to mark this day, which in turn inspires people to band together for the benefit of their fellow citizens.

The distribution of old clothes by the “Missionaries of Charity” on Gandhi Jayanti at Shivala Ghat in Varanasi demonstrates the spirit of service and unity, reminding us of the importance of helping those less fortunate and making a positive impact in the lives of those around us.
